Olde Fashioned Roast Coffee When coffee beans were first introduced to America in 1607, they were roasted over an open fire. When the wood cook stove became available in 1834, beans moved from the open hearth to the iron skillet. This was called “hand roasting”. Roasted beans were then ground by hand in a wooden coffee grinder. Today, we use a small batch roaster using sight, smell and experience to do an Olde Fashioned, which tends to be a darker roast. In keeping with this tradition, we at Cohas Coffee Co. are committed to personal attention along with a passion for the taste of “yesteryear”.This is Olde Fashioned Roast.
